✨Was that just a thought, or something more?... the clair that hides in plain sight

You're driving along, mind on nothing in particular, and a thought drops in.

Call your mom.

Not a feeling. Not a voice. Not a vision. Just a clear, plain thought, little emotion attached. The way you'd remember to pick up milk. And because it feels exactly like your own thinking, you almost don't act on it.

But you do. You call. And she'd been hoping you would.

This is claircognizance (clear knowing). It's the clair most people overlook, because it doesn't announce itself. No goosebumps, no shimmer of light, no words that sound different from your own inner voice.

I hear it all the time from clients. Someone will say, "Well, it's probably nothing, but I had this random thought that…" — and what follows is a piece of information that seems to come out of the blue.

That's not random. And it's not nothing.

Loved ones who've crossed reach us through whichever channel is most open. For many people, that channel is the thinking mind. They don't show a vision because we'd dismiss it. They don't whisper because we'd second-guess hearing it. They drop a knowing, and trust we'll act on it.

Here's a mini practice for this week:

When a thought arrives that feels a little too specific, a little too out of context, a little too sure, write it down. Before the analytical mind has time to call it imagination, get it on paper. Just one line. The date, the thought, what was happening when it landed.

Over time, the doubt softens. You stop calling these moments coincidence. You start acting on them because something in you trusts what arrived.

Whether you're curious about your own connection capacity, or wanting to feel closer to someone you love, this is one of the simplest doorways in.

Want to hear from them directly? Book a mediumship session here. You can also hit reply and tell me what's been dropping in this week. I love hearing what comes through.

In peace,

Johanna

P.S. If someone came to mind while you were reading this, trust that. They came up for a reason.

It just lands as a thought, and the analytical mind takes credit for it almost instantly.
