💫 My mom's message... from beyond the veil!
I was on a group call with my mindset coach, Liz Nicklas, on Monday, and she shared a practice she calls "stillness." The idea is to sit outside with eyes closed, and just listen for 2 minutes max.
No watching thoughts drift away like clouds or trying to empty your mind; just listen.
I've tried this several times now, and have started combining it with a practice I learned from my mentor Marie Manuchehri.
As I sit, I imagine my aura (what I sense as the energy that surrounds me) expand out to three city blocks in all directions. No worries that it will interfere with others' auras- they're always intermingling!
I invite you to try this. Just sit for 2-3 minutes and imagine your aura like an eggshell, expanding in all directions. I see mine (it's silver and sparkly!) go south down to the harbor, around to the west to the neighborhoods I often walk in, north to the beautiful woods that are so green now, out to the east, and back to the water. Don't forget to expand up into the air above you, and down into the ground so you feel centered!
It's a powerful way to refresh yourself or take a break from your work day.
This time as I listened, I heard the hose running, and knew I needed to go move it to the next area of the garden where the roses are. I kept that in mind as I finished the practice, then got up feeling so refreshed and connected.

As I knelt down to pick up the hose, my eye caught a silver glint in the dirt. Can you find it in the photo above?
It was a beloved long-lost earring that was my mom's! That's the kind of magic that happens when we get still and connect to energy beyond ourselves. I could feel her joy at my finding it, and also more certainty that my connection to the beyond is always available.
Now that I'm doing more work across the veil, I often get asked "how do you connect with spirits and guides when someone books a psychic mediumship session?"
The first step is to do this kind of stillness practice, expanding my energy field and raising my vibration. Then I ask my ancestors and guides for their assistance, and wait until I feel their presence and support.
Next I'll bring the client to mind, asking for only those with the highest good of the client to come through and share information that I'll bring to the session.
Sometimes quite a few souls show up, so I'll ask who the client most needs to hear from, and invite the others to join us at the session if there's time.
Sessions are a 3-way dance between the client, me as the medium, and the souls who want to be present, so it's important that the client come to the session with their energy aligned. I can help with that before we start!
Once we begin, I'll share what I heard in advance, and more comes through as the session unfolds. The client can ask questions, request advice, and invite others across the veil to join us as well.

Back to that earring - I remember thinking when I realized that it was lost- months ago - that it will come back to me at some point. That trust is priceless!
Let me know if you try this "stillness" practice and how it works for you!

In peace,
Johanna
P.S. The roses are what I was watering when I found the earring, and that blend of peachy shades was one of my mom's favorites to have in the garden!
