✨Do you have to be "woo" to connect?

There's something I hear all the time, usually in a slightly lowered voice.

"I'd love to connect with my mom, but I'm just not that woo."

Maybe you've thought it too. That connection belongs to people who burn sage, pull Tarot cards, and own more crystals than mugs. (I'm guilty of at least two of those.)

Here's what I know from years of this work: you don't have to be woo to connect.

You only have to be both human and soul. Which you already are.

I've had so many clients come to their integration call, 2-3 weeks after their session, and share beautiful stories that have brought them comfort and clarity!

And I'm noticing something. More people are interested in this than ever before. I see so many more spiritually-curious people out there than even a year ago, and plenty of them would never have called themselves that until recently.

We're in October now, and many traditions say the veil between this world and the next grows thinner as we approach Halloween and Samhain. (My friends in the southern hemisphere, your Samhain arrives around the first of May. Enjoy your spring flowers in the meantime!)

I find it useful to think of that thinning as a filter. Our brains are wonderfully good at keeping us focused on groceries and deadlines, and to do that, they screen out a lot. Including the awareness that we are part of something much larger than ourselves.

The filter isn't a flaw. It just isn't the whole picture.

Here's a little secret for the early wakers among us. (Hello, it's me!)

Some traditions say the hours between 3:00 and 5:00am are when that filter softens most easily.

So the next time you find yourself awake at a quarter to four, staring at the ceiling, I invite you to stop fighting it. Breathe. Let the filter dissolve. Notice what arrives. A face. A memory. A warmth. A knowing.

And on the nights when that feels like too much, use the time differently. Set an intention for the energy you want to carry into your day, then go back to sleep.

When you do get up, you might:

Greet the day before you greet your phone.

Feel your feet on the floor and offer a little gratitude before you make your coffee or tea.

Step outside, arms wide, and smile at the morning. (Your neighbors may wonder. Let them.)

None of this requires a single crystal. It only asks you to notice. And noticing changes how you move through your day.

Maybe you're curious about your own capacity to connect. Maybe there's someone you'd like to hear from. Either way, you don't have to figure it out alone.

You've been sensing it's time. Let this be when you say "yes." Book a free Clarity call here, and bring your questions, your doubts, and your 4:00am experiences.

In peace,
Johanna

P.S. This month, I invite you to set a place for someone you love. A photo on the table, a candle, their favorite song playing while you cook. You don't have to be woo to say hello.
